Join us this saturday at Modern Formations Gallery, 9am-3pm, for our FOURTH annual replenishing blood drive to benefit Central Blood Bank!

As always walk-ins are welcome, and there will be tons and tons of delicious cupcakes for everyone! Beautiful extra fancy mugs will be available to the first 48 donors. We will also have amazing prints for sale ( 8x10 for $20, 11x14 for $30) to benefit BRICKS for Young Adults. Prints are VERY limited.

Even if you are ineligible to donate please come by and say hello or bring a friend who can donate. Cant wait to see everyone saturday!!!

Thats right friends, its that time again. Time to start thinking about our FOURTH annual Blood & Cupcakes replenishing blood drive to benefit Central Blood Bank.

Details to come, but mark your calendars NOW for Saturday, November 5, 2011. You can count on all the things you love about B&C- the donor raffle, the friendly faces, that warm fuzzy feeling you have knowing youre helping other people, oh yeah- AND CUPCAKES!!!!

Blood & Cupcakes 3 is TOMORROW!!!

And its not too late to come and donate blood! We've sweetened the deal with some extra special prizes for the donor raffle- gift certificates from our beloved friends at Gypsy Cafe, Piper's Pub and the Tartan Devil's Football Club, Jester's Court Tattoos and more!

As always there will be cupcakes for everybody- from independent bakers as well as our friends at My Goodies Vegan Bakery and Magnolia Cafe. Each donor receives raffle tickets to enter to win prizes, as well as a commemorative mug for the first 45 donors! We'll also have copies of the BRICKS for Young Adults Cancer Awareness & Resource Guide for those of you who may not have one yet, or want to know more about what we're about!

The drive benefits the Central Blood Bank, and their basical donor qualifications can be found here. The CBB staff are super helpful and really good at what they do- so dont be afraid to come out and learn more about donating. Repeat donors are always welcome and encouraged, as are "first timers"!

Its a really fun and exciting day, we hope we'll see you there. We're counting on you all to help make our third annual Blood & Cupcakes the most successful yet!

Hey all,

Just a quick heads up to mark your calendars for BLOOD & CUPCAKES 3, which will be held on Saturday, November 6, from 9am til 3pm. Thanks to the kind folks at Modern Formations Gallery we will be holding the blooddrive in the same location as last year, which worked out really well for everyone.

This will serve as a replenishing blooddrive to benefit Central Blood Bank. For more information on donor qualifications, please click here. In a couple of weeks we will provide more information on how to sign up for a donation time slot. All donors receive special gifts from us at BRICKS for Young Adults, entries into our donor raffle, and all the cupcakes you can eat. Oh and the warm fuzzy feeling you get from knowing that your life saving blood donation means the world to so many people.

Im really looking forward to this year's blooddrive and have set a goal to collect 50 units of blood. Please spread the word, and plan to attend. If you are unable to donate blood, please come by and show your support (and eat cupcakes). We are also looking for donations of items or services for the donor raffle, as well as bakers to donate cupcakes. 2nd annual Blood & Cupcakes a success!!

Im finally beginning to recover from my crazily busy weekend, which, I am happy to report, was totally worth all of the hard work. Our blood drive was a success, and Id like to take a minute to re-cap and thank everyone involved.

HUGE thanks to everyone who came out and donated blood, or at least tried to donate. It means so much to me that each and every one of you came out and were willing to give blood to help those in need. It may seem like a small thing, but to the person who needs the blood its so so so very important. Im most proud that our little blood drive continues to turn first time donors into regular donors; getting people on the path to frequent donation is my ultimate goal and proves that one small gesture can do something big.

I am sure there are people to thank who I havent mentioned, and I apologize. This day could not have been possible without each and every one of you.

There are lots of surprises for donors, including tasty cupcakes and a raffle full of excellent prizes. If you cant donate blood, but want to participate, please stop by and see us. Learn about BRICKS for Young Adults and the things we are doing to help those with cancer in our region.

If you are planning to donate blood PLEASE send us a message to coordinate a donation time. Time slots are available every 15 minutes (9, 9:15, 9:30 and so on). Walk-ins will be accommodated day of the drive as time allows.

We are now beginning the donor registration process for our second annual Blood & Cupcakes replenishing blood drive to benefit Central Blood Bank. The event will be held on Saturday, November 7, from 9am -3pm.

Donation times begin at 9am and are available in 15 minute intervals- 9am, 9:15am, 9:30am, 9:45am and so on. Up to 3 donors can be signed up in each time slot. Please email me at BRICKSpgh at gmail dot com to secure your time slot!

Reminder: Blood & Cupcakes in 2 months!!

Just a friendly reminder that our SECOND annual blood drive is coming up in about 2 months. Im giving plenty of warning so that any of who you regularly donate blood can shift your schedules a tiny bit (or a lot!) so that you will be eligible to donate at our drive!

We had a lot of success last year with this, and are setting higher collection goals this year. Again, we will have goodies for those who donate, and ways to participate in the festivities even if you are unable to donate blood.
